The peak and current severity movement definitely helps - as Brent likely noted, that's what was implemented at Atlassian. BUT - the politics/incentives still lives in those 'peak' numbers as a metric; so I've seen it as a partial solve vs a full one. It's absolutely a step in the right direction though and helps to reduce a bridge becoming paralyzed while everyone debates a number.
I've seen a few other... unique ways of tackling this problem, but I love these series of approaches; the four-field layer is a very elegant idea to bring nuance to severity. Love it!
